Winning Major Motorsports Series Racing Team Implements USAT's Wireless Services

Chapel Hill, NC — January 7, 2003 -- USAT, a leading provider of field force automation systems, is proud to announce the successful implementation of a custom-designed wireless data network for a premiere major motorsports series Racing Team.*

USAT’s intimate knowledge of the Winston Cup environment gained through four years of track-to-track investigation coupled with wireless integration expertise has proven to be a winning combination for the top ranking racing team. Immediately following USAT’s radio frequency network installation, the team won four of the remaining six races in 2002.

The racing team needed a wireless data solution to improve racing communications between pit crews. The old data network had inconsistent availability which affected race day and practice time communications between pit crews. Radio frequency interference also complicated the exchange of vital performance information between teams.

USAT Provides Solution
The winning racing team selected USAT to provide design services and implementation of a custom designed data network to overcome their communication issues. Lead Engineer for one of the winning cars stated, “Since the replacement RF network has been in place, we as a team can rely on consistent reliable communications from transport to transport during practice, and pit to pit during the race.” USAT brought the major motorsports series racing team to a new performance level while alleviating interference issues and raising the overall quality of service. The scalability of this new network will allow for multiple RF networks to coexist without a loss of performance or interference issues.
