The Panasonic Toughbook® in the US market is not affected on the recent notebook battery recalls.
Chapel Hill, NC—August 25, 2006—USAT Corp., one of Panasonic Computer Solution Company’s top resellers, put forth an important message to their clients today via an email and phone campaign. Currently, massive recalls of laptop batteries are in the news as Apple Computer and Dell Computer batteries manufactured by Sony have recently made announcements about their laptop batteries overheating and batteries exploding, causing sudden laptop failure. Millions of battery recalls are impacting the usefulness of notebooks and laptops worldwide.
Panasonic Toughbooks, that are designed, built and tested in Panasonic’s own factories, have the industry’s lowest failure rate and highest reliability. Rance Poehler, President of Panasonic Computer Solutions Company is making it clear in the attached letter, publicized by USAT Corp., that Panasonic manufactures their own batteries, so there are NO PROBLEMS with Toughbook batteries over-heating or exploding.
