Forms2Base is a forms automation and communication product offering from Field2Base. This product enables paper forms to be converted to digital forms which can be completed from a Tablet PC. The completed form may be transmitted wirelessly as an email attachment to desktop PCs or passed to an enterprise "back-end" system using an industry standard XML interface. Forms2Base is included in the software license for the Field2Base product but may also be licensed as a stand-alone product, for companies who only need forms processing capabilities. The communications for Forms2Base is embedded in the forms document, easing transmission, like all other documents from Field2Base.
Forms2Base consists of a Forms Designer tool running on the desktop and the Forms2Base client running on the Tablet PC used by field personnel. The Forms Designer software allows office personnel to load a digital image of paper forms into the application and add characteristics for each form field. This includes fields for printed text, numeric input, alpha-numeric input, dates, bar codes, data mapping, photos and calculations. The electronic forms are then pushed out to the Tablet PCs, via the Field2Base server. Field users are able to access these forms on the Tablet PC and instantaneously turn their paper forms into "smart forms" that take full advantage of the hand writing recognition capability of the Tablets.
